Hair Testing
Hair tests provide 90 to 365 days of detection. The length of the head hair sample dictates the time period that the test covers. One inch is equal to approximately one month's time. A hair specimen can come from anywhere on the donor's body. However, since body hair is considered dormant hair, a test using body hair will cover a 12-month time period. Usually a hair collection specimen requires a thickness equal to the 1/2 diameter of a pencil. If hair is less than one inch long, than a great thickness is necessary.
